ON OUR TABLES:
Food Chain Magnate (led by Tim) 2015 heavy (4.19/5) strategy game about building a fast food chain. The focus is on building your company using a card-driven (human) resource management system. Players compete on a variable city map through purchasing, marketing and sales, and on a job market for key staff members.
Point Salad (led by Sean) 2019 card drafting game where players draft veggies and point scoring cards to earn VPs in a wide variety of ways. Quick fun
Sushi Go Party (led by Rachel) 2016 8-player version of the 2015 Phil Walker-Harding card game, that provides more Sushi choices for greater variety in this classic pick, pass and play family game. Pick a sushi card and add it to your tableau and pass the rest to your neighbor….rinse, lather and repeat until all cards dealt are played. Each type of Sushi scores differently.
Critter Kitchen (led by Matt) 2025 programmed movement game where players are running restaurants competing in Restaurant Week in Bistro Bay. Earn stars from 3 food challenges over 3 days while also planning an epic meal to impress a celebrity critic on the final night. Each round players send their 3 differently sized chefs to locations across the city of Bistro Bay to gather the best ingredients needed to craft dishes for the challenges and the critic’s meal. Larger chefs can carry more ingredients, but smaller chefs are faster and as we know the early bird (or mouse) gets the worm!
Steam Up! (led by Tony) This 2023 release is a competitive set collection and action management game of eating the best meal of Dim Sum. At the beginning of the game, steamers, filled with different types of Dim Sum, are stacked and placed on a Turntable. Each player takes turns performing actions in order to purchase Dim Sum in Steamers within their Feast Zone. The game ends when a specific number of Steamers is purchased or the Fate deck is emptied. The player with the most Hearty Points wins and leaves the table with the fullest stomach!
Sushi Boat (led by Sean) 2023 set collection, worker placement game. Each turn, players perform their choice of actions, including taking plates of sushi off the revolving ‘belt’ on the board, paying staff tiles for effects, buying side dishes and more. As players eat, plates will be stacked in front of you. Points are scored by eating off matching Plates, and for eating a wide variety of sushi types. Pay attention as you never know when someone will start a Wasabi Challenge! When the side dish deck runs out, the game ends and players calculate their victory points.
Ramen Fury (led by Tony) 2019 set collection card game with a ‘Take That’ aspect. Players collect combos of cards to score for different recipes while adding garnishes to boost their points. Watch out as other players throw spicy chili peppers your way or swipe foods right from your bowls!
Cardboard Confectioner (led by Zach) Zach’s own design, this is a ‘deck-thinning’ deckbuilder where players start with 30 ingredient cards in their deck (pantry). Each turn, players play ingredients attempting to complete one of the pre-selected recipes. Each recipe is a certain number of victory points with a unique benefit that aids in helping players work towards the more daunting recipes. Once a player achieves 25 victory points, each remaining player in the turn order gets a chance to play out their last turn. The player with the most victory points wins. If you’re interested in playing, playtesting or learning more, let Zach know, he’d love to talk about it.
